Além do encerramento das Paralimpíadas, esse domingo (18) contou com um evento especial para os fãs de séries americanas. Isso porque o Emmy Awards, o Oscar da televisão, chegou a sua 68ª edição da premiação, em Los Angeles, consagrando Game Of Thrones e American Crime Story com vários prêmios. A cerimônia, apresentada por Jimmt Kimmel, começou com uma esquete em que ele reproduziu várias cenas dos seriados que concorriam no evento.
Kimmel falou da habilidade que a TV tem em fazer as pessoas rirem. “rir, chorar e até mesmo, em certos momentos de GoT, masturbar. Se não fosse pela televisão, o Donald Trump estaria concorrendo como presidente?”, ironizou ele.
A grande vencedora da noite foi Game Of Thrones que, após conquistar 12 prêmio, entrou para a história do Emmy como a série dramática mais premiada da TV americana. Ao todo, a trama já conquistou 38 troféus, superando os 26 de The West Wing e Hill Street Blues. Mas a novata The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story também teve o seu destaque. Das 12 indicações, cinco foram conquistadas pela equipe da produção.
Sarah Paulson, que vem se destacando em American Crime Story, conquistou o seu primeiro Emmy pela atuação como Marcia Clark. O mais interessante é que a própria Marcia estava na plateia e acompanhou a vitória da atriz.

Com alguns anos de atraso, como alguns chegaram a dizer, Tatiana Maslany, de Orphan Black, levou o prêmio de "Melhor Atriz em Série Dramática”. Entre as comédias, Veep foi eleita como a melhor, enquanto Aziz Ansari e Alan Yang, de Master of None, levaram como Melhor Roteiro em Série Cômica, e Jill Solloway, de Transparent, a Melhor Direção.
